Ninety-One Thousand Five Hundred Pennies

Dale Heckert pulled into Becky Lindahl’s driveway on a Friday afternoon and dumped nine hundred fifteen dollars’ worth of pennies onto the gravel. But these weren’t ordinary pennies. Every single one was covered in thick, black motor oil.
Becky stood frozen on her porch as the copper coins spread across her driveway. Her two young children watched from behind her.
