Lot Forty – The Tractor That No One Would Buy

Darlene Lindgren drove forty minutes to a farm auction in southern Minnesota for one simple reason: she needed a replacement stock tank for her cattle. Her husband, Earl, was lying in a hospital ICU after suffering a devastating stroke, and she had more important things on her mind than farm equipment. But as she walked between rows of old tractors and rusty machinery, something caught her eye. At the end of the third row stood a beautiful red 1948 Farmall M. She recognized it immediately. Darlene begged the auction manager to remove the tractor, but without paperwork proving ownership, nobody could stop the sale. The sheriff told her it was a family matter, and a court order would take weeks. The auction was scheduled for the following morning. With no legal solution and no one willing to help, Darlene made a decision. She would stand before hundreds of farmers and tell them the truth about the man who had built that tractor. But what happened when lot forty finally came up for bidding would surprise everyone..CONTINUE READING
