Carrie Underwood’s Surprising Move to a Beautiful Tennessee Farm

One unexpected evening changed the way country music star Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, thought about home. What began as an ordinary night outside with the family dogs ended in a painful accident, emergency medical care, surgery, and weeks of recovery. Following the November 2017 incident, Underwood needed surgery for a broken wrist and received 40 to 50 stitches for facial injuries. The experience also brought renewed attention to the family’s desire for greater privacy. Despite their success and beautiful surroundings, the couple wanted something many families dream of: a peaceful place where they could enjoy everyday life away from public attention.

For years, their luxurious three-story villa in Brentwood, Tennessee, had been their family home. Purchased in 2007 for approximately $1.352 million, the impressive property featured four bedrooms, six bathrooms, multiple fireplaces, elegant terraces, and a spectacular dressing suite connected by a spiral staircase. Its spacious kitchen and golf-course surroundings made it an extraordinary residence. However, following the accident and growing concerns about privacy, the property was eventually listed for approximately $1.45 million in 2019. Meanwhile, the couple had already been working toward a different dream: creating a private countryside retreat where their family could enjoy more space and freedom.

That dream became reality on a remarkable 400-acre farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Underwood and Fisher began purchasing the land in 2011 through two transactions totaling approximately $3.2 million. Their custom estate eventually included a beautiful main house, horse facilities, barns, a private lake, vegetable gardens, and wide-open pastures. The property became home to horses, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, and other animals. Even the chickens occasionally attracted attention for their adorable little bow ties! Inside, the home combines comfortable living spaces, large windows, neutral colors, and modern touches with a warm country atmosphere.

The gardens have also become an important part of everyday life. A spacious greenhouse, fruit trees, berry bushes, and outdoor vegetable beds provide fresh produce throughout the year. Underwood has shared glimpses of her harvests, including tomatoes, carrots, squash, peppers, and homegrown mandarins. Alongside raising their sons, Isaiah and Jacob, the couple enjoys balancing busy professional careers with family time and farm responsibilities. For Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, the move was about much more than exchanging one beautiful property for another. It was about creating a home filled with privacy, nature, animals, and the simple pleasures of everyday family life.
